Ephedra slimming pills review
Ephedra pills on sale before the
FDA ban in 2004

In 2004 the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) banned Ephendra slimming pills and health supplements. Shortly after the UK and Australia followed. This was the first ever diet supplement ban made by the United States government.

155 people have died in America after using Ephedra based supplements to lose weight and increase their energy levels.

More than 16,000 people have reported side effects from taking Ephedra related products which led to its ban. A recently study was done showing its linked with heart attacks, strokes and sudden death.

What is Ephedra?

Also known as Ephedrine and Ma Huang. Ephedra is a plant found in parts of central Asia. The greens from the plant are dried and used for medical purposes. Ephedra is a herbal stimulant that was widely availabe in America for asthma, weight loss and an energy booster. Some of the products were mixed with caffeine and other stimulants.

Ephedra side-effects

Ephedra's active ingredients are the alkaloids ephedrine and pseudoephedrine. These alkaloids are amphetamine like compounds that have lethal stimulant effects on the central nervous system and heart. These serious side effects include increased blood pressure, high heart rate, neurophathy, stroke, memory loss, insomnia, tremors, seizures, heart attacks and sudden death.

Ephedra Conclusion

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) don't ban products without good reason. Ephedra is known to cause serious side effects and can damage your long term health. Many people have died and thousands have reported the side effects.

We strongly recommend not buying any slimming pills or products that contain Ephedra. Don't put your health at risk when there are better alternatives.

Customer Reviews

I purchased some ephedra slimming pills from a body building shop in my town. Having now read that it's been made illegal i'm not sure how he was still able to sell it.

Taking ephedra was a bit like drinking 8 shots of espresso in one go. My heart rate was racing all day (and night). I was jittery and sweated sometimes without any reason. For the first few days I only took half the recommended dosage (25 mg). I stayed on it for 2 weeks but had to stop as I couldn't cope with the side-effects.

The one good thing about ephedra is that exercise was easier and I had more energy.
